Anniversary Plans...

Austin has signed up for a tractor drive with his friend Sterling. I don't know how I feel about this... They also decided that staying in a hotel for the 4 days would be too expensive so they have decided that camping is the way to go...

I was okay with that until I found out that the drive is the same weekend as our anniversary. You know the anniversary we never spend together... How romantic, right? This year is number 12. I have no clue where all the years have gone!

So, we will be camping somewhere around Centerville. My husband will be gone on the drive leaving me and Sterling's wife, Julie, alone with 4 kids. Just what I wanted for my anniversary. Maybe we can talk our friend, Jess, and her family into joining us. (You reading this Jess!! Weekend of June 24th through that Wednesday... Check your calendar!) I've told Austin that no matter what else is going on that if we are camping he is gonna have to be sure to take Mason fishing. I swear he is obsessed with fishing. I don't get it! I love camping but hate, hate, HATE fishing...

I hope we find a campground with a good shower house...

30+ days...

I think I'm going crazy. I've been here over 30 days and still have 2 weeks before I get to go 'down home' again.

I think this might be the longest I've ever gone... EVER...

Now I'm ready to be over this head cold so I can get back to work finishing my quilt. I've learned not to quilt when I'm distracted. I lost a fingernail last week... It's a good thing I keep them long but still not the way I wanted to lose one. I've also got some other things I'm working on. I've also got to find some local seniors and start to break into the local scene. I'm tired of most of my business coming from out of the area. I've decided on seniors because they are so much fun to work with. More fun than newborns even... and since I'm fairly sure I forgot to show off my cousin's baby, Carlos...

He sure is a cutie. I can't believe the next time I go 'down home' I will be taking his 3 month pics... Time flies!

Where have I been???

I've been here... doing stuff... I know real informative.

Christmas was good. I got to spend several days at my moms with my sisters alone. I know highlight of my Christmas.

New Years we had people over. Our regular group of transplants and Austin's parents. We stayed up way too late playing cards and eating. I lost. I lost very badly...

January started off strong. I finished one quilt top, my husband had a birthday and joined the 30 club, Mason is doing AwEsOmE in speech, I've got another quilt top almost done, my husbands computer crashed (and he hadn't backed it up even though I told him to and had the external sitting right next to it!!!), my cousin started college at ISU (so wonderful having family close-er), the flu tore through our house not once but twice, as did this horrible head cold crap, and I have now been home for over 30 consecutive days. I think that fairly well sums up January...

Oh, and who could forget all this wonderful weather we are having this winter. It feels more like spring outside but I'm sure with the storm we are expecting this weekend we'll remember that we still have several more weeks of winter left...
